types of wood and their uses
What types of wood are available for my wooden packaging and what is the difference between plywood and solid wood?
Depending on the application and the type of wooden packaging, the technical and optical characteristics of the different types of wood are decisive for the final selection. We would be happy to advise you individually in order to coordinate technical requirements with the visual design of your wooden box. In principle, raw materials can be roughly divided into the following types.
plywood:
Plywood is veneer glued in layers. As a result, directional material properties are homogenized across the board level. Depending on the strength of the respective raw material, the panels consist of 3-7 layers. We have the following plywood permanently in stock for you as standard.
Poplar Plywood
Birch Plywood
Beeach plywood
Pine plywood
solid Wood:
Wood products whose cross-sections were carved out of a tree trunk are referred to as solid wood. The structure of the wood is not changed mechanically. In order to be able to use these high-quality woods even with larger wooden boxes, we also use glued wood panels. To do this, several solid wood strips are glued to form a large panel and sanded flat. Although solid wood is mostly more expensive, it gives wooden packaging a special value and closeness to nature. We have the following solid woods permanently in stock for you as standard:
spruce
Pine
Beech
Oak
Walnut
